You never know how you’re going to react to good news. When Kathleen Edwards got an email back from Jason Isbell‘s manager, she wasn’t expecting Isbell to offer to produce her new album, Billionaire.
“Well, I burst into tears,” she says.
Today, Edwards joins World Cafe to perform songs from that new album. Plus, she talks about how working with Isbell pushed her creatively, and she shares an important lesson she learned from running Quitters, her coffee shop.
“If you just walk down the street and pass someone and make assumptions about them, you forget all of the depth of their humanity and their good and bad days,” she says.
