
Elliott Skinner
Biography
Elliott Skinner engrossed himself in music from an early age, singing in church, community choirs and bands throughout his hometown of Dallas, TX. At age ten he started writing songs and playing guitar. Deciding to leave Berklee College of Music at the age of 19 and move to New York City, Skinner immersed himself in various scenes, carving out a community across producers, writers, performers and studio musicians encompassing all walks of soul, folk and various explorations of the interplay between the rhythmic & sonic landscapes of vocal and instrumental performance.
His high level playing / singing and multi-faceted approach to everything from roots music to jazz, rock and soul has allowed him to record and tour with the likes of Chance the Rapper, Jon Batiste, Chaka Khan, Joy Oladokun, Amos Lee and many more, most recently being tapped to music direct, play bass and sing backing vocals with Leon Bridges, and support Hiatus Kaiyote’s Nai Palm on her US tour in 2023.
Skinner will continue to perform solo shows and tour with Leon Bridges among others before dropping a collection of his own songs in 2024.

Through a dedication to creating music that is an influential force for people to understand other people, Skinner has garnered the recognition and worked alongside artists such as Chance the Rapper, Eryn Allen Kane, Leon Bridges, Samora Pinderhughes, Nai Palm (Hiatus Kaiyote), Amos Lee, Jon Batiste, Pusha T, and more.
Raised in Texas and currently residing in Denmark, Skinner spent 11 years in New York City learning what community, practice, and art mean to him.
