Bombadil’s upcoming album, “Fences,” signals a new direction for the Durham, North Carolina-based trio of James Phillips, Daniel Michalak and Stacy Harden. The album (which will be released on March 3 via Ramseur Records) took shape after the departure of a longtime band member, forcing the group to step out of its comfort zone and explore new ways of conveying their sound.

The result is critical acclaim from the likes of NPR, Rolling Stone and many more. Time Out New York has hailed the group’s music as “bursting with irresistible melodies, unexpected lyrical gems, and moments of profound honesty, all anchored by expert songwriting skills.” Bombadil has toured with Dr. Dog, Kishi Bashi and Carolina Chocolate Drops, and will embark on a 2017 tour in support of “Fences.”
