Black Francis lines up solo acoustic tour

Pixies frontman/guitarist Black Francis is doing a series of solo acoustic shows beginning July 12 in Boise, ID, during which he’ll perform “a very unique and memorable” selection of songs from his 20-year-career, according to a press release.
The nine-date tour runs through July 28, with a final show at Beachcomber in Wellfleet, MA.
Francis recently wrapped a worldwide tour with the Pixies; that tour, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of their sophomore release, “Doolittle,” has been extended and will resume Oct. 27 in Montclair, NJ.
Francis launched his solo career as Frank Black when The Pixies broke up in 1993. He also has performed with a band as Frank Black and the Catholics.
The influential frontman regrouped with the Pixies in 2004 and continues to tour both as a solo artist and with the alt-rockers.
